Our Babies

We bought a sexed pair of Coatimundi in late September of 2009. They were both about 2 years old when we bought them. We have called them Snooky and Mya. Apparently another name for the Coati in their native country are Snookum Bears.
Coatimundi are from South America namely Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Equador, Bolivia as well as a few others. They are a diurnal animal and are equally comfortable in the trees as they are on the ground. They are quite a powerful robust animal with a large mouth and teeth. The male is much stockier and bigger built than the female.
