Our Babies

On the 2nd August 2008 our son Andrew was able to stroke the female Skunk. He had taken the food in and sat with them for a while. They came out to eat and he noticed that they were going mad for the cottage cheese. he put some on his fingers and held out his hand. The female sniffed the air and wandered over to Andrew and started to eat off his hand. As Ziva was eating he stroked her chin. If he attempted to stroke her head she would back off a little.

3rd August 2008. Andrew again fed the Skunks. He again placed cottage cheese on his fingers. Ziva again came and ate off his hand. He was able to stroke Ziva on chin, head and body this time. We feel our or should I say Andrews patience is finally paying off.

On the 7th August 2008 Andrew again went in to feed the Skunks and spend some time with them. Ziva came across to be hand fed and be stroked. Andrew was able to pick her up.

31st August 2008.
Over the last few weeks Andrew has spent more time in trying to coax Jethrow. As time has progressed Jethro has let Andrew stroke him and finally pick him up and cuddle him. We are now at the point were Jethro willingly lets Andrew hold him. At no point has Jethro attempted o spray not even when we eventually cut his nails.
The next stage is to introduce Jethro into the home enviroment. We are so pleased with their progress.
