Although not exactly in the exotic catagory we thought we had to include these wonderful creatures on our
website.
It has been about 9 - 10 years since we last kept Ferrets. We had 2 ferrets named Hotdog and Felicia. These
were both rescues after being neglected.. They enjoyed the rest of their lives in the manner that all animals should enjoy.
Our youngest son Matthew saw some Ferrets in a local pet shop and instantly fell in love with them.
The lady in the shop got one out for Matthew and he was hooked. He pestered the life out of me for days and although he was
only 9 years old at the time he spent many many hours on the interenet reasearching about Ferrets. I eventually gave
in and said he could have some.
We ended up buying Miley and Lily who were labelled as being white ferrets, obviously both girls or jills
to be precise. They were both 11 weeks old when we purchased them. They are amazing, friendly, mischevious, playful and quite
energetic animals. All the family has fell for them, so much so we went out and bought another 2 Ferrets. They are unrelated
to Miley and Lily.
Ben and Lara are 7 weeks old and are the traditional colour. We placed these 2 in with Miley and Lily and
they got on instantly.
It is Mtthews resposability to look after these animals. Obviously they are our responsibility and we oversee
their care but Matthew is the prime carer. To this day he religiously feeds, waters and cleans them. All the family
love them and they are handled a number of times a day and go for a run around the house. We do not for one second regret
getting Matthew the Ferrets and are a fantastic addition to our family.
